What To Do When You Visit us in San Martin

The Clos LaChance Tasting Room has many options for our guests to enjoy on a visit to the winery, including:

  • Wine Tasting: Clos LaChance offers a Premium Tasting which includes selection of five wines and a souvenir hummingbird glass for $10 or $5 for the tasting alone.

  • Picnicking: There are two great venues at Clos LaChance Winery that are beautiful for outdoor picnics—the Grand Terrace and the Mulberry Grove. There are tables in both venues that are available on a first come, first serve basis. Use of picnicking facilities is free with any wine purchase.  Two options for food are available:

    • Wine Pairable Pack from www.winepairables.com only $12 each:

      • White Delight: White Delight caters to lighter, more fruit-forward whites.  Recommended pairings include Sauvignon Blanc, no-oak chardonnay or Pinot Gris.  White Delight includes Winchester mild Gouda, Zoria Farms dried apricots, toasted almonds, homemade fig & apricot spread, crackers, and white chocolate with green tea.
      • Bold Blanc: Bolder, more full-bodied whites are recommended to accompany our Bold Blanc.  Pairings include big, oaky Chardonnay, Viognier, or Roussane.  Bold Blanc includes Vella dry Monterey Jack cheese, Zoria Farms dried pears, pistachio nuts, homemade fig and pear spread, crackers, and white chocolate with green tea.
      • Vermillion Crush:  Recommended to be paired with lighter, more fruit-forward reds, such as Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Vin Gris or Rose.  Vermillion Crush caters to a lighter fruit base, consisting of Zoria Farms dried cherries, Fiscalini dry white cheddar, toasted hazelnuts, homemade fig and cherry spread, crackers, and dark chocolate.
      • Crimson Harvest: Crimson Harvest has a delightfully bolder fruit base, recommended to be paired with more full-bodied reds, such as Syrah, Zinfandel, Petit Sirah, or Cabernet Sauvignon.  Contents consist of Zoria Farms dried plums, Winchester aged Gouda, toasted almonds, homemade fig and plum spread, crackers, and dark chocolate.

    • BYOP: Bring your Own Picnic! Non-alcoholic beverages only please.

  • Bocce Ball: In 2005, Clos LaChance installed a regulation size Bocce Ball Court in the Mulberry Grove. Enjoy an afternoon of Bocce with wine and a picnic! The Bocce Ball Court is first-come-first serve. If there is a waiting list, guests will be asked to follow the 1-hour time limit on the court. Guests can bring their own Bocce balls, or use Clos LaChance’s equipment. Visit the Tasting Bar and talk to your host about Bocce availability. Use of the Bocce Ball Court and equipment is free with any wine purchase.

  • Cellar Tours: Enjoy a detailed tour of the Clos LaChance production and hospitality facilities. Learn from one of our Estate Sommeliers about the entire winemaking process from the crush pit to the catwalks in the cellar. Stroll through the beautiful gardens and the Mulberry Grove. Reservations are required, $20 per person. Coming soon: a Demonstration Vineyard and Morning Vineyard Hikes.

  • Special Events: Time for Wine Thursdays (Memorial Day through Labor Day), Estate Dinners, Guest Chef Dinners, BBQ’s, Wine Club Weekends and more. Please check the Events Calendar for schedule details.

  • Private Events: Clos LaChance is a great venue to host a private dinner, wedding or other special celebration. Please contact events@clos.com for more details.
